Shetland Division 

Main Goal of the Shetland Division: Provide a great learning experience to young players being introduced to baseball.

Playing age:  Boys and Girls age 5-6 (5-years old by 4/1/25)

Price:  $100

League includes:

• 8 total games on Saturdays

• Practices based on Coach’s availability

• Practice may start on April 15th

• 1 game per week on Saturdays for 8 weeks  (Mid-April - Mid-June)

• ~ 8 players on a team

• No Umpires

• 3 innings or 60 minutes. 

Rules

• Games will be played on pinto league dimensions. (60 foot bases)

• All players will bat once in each inning.

• Each batter may receive 4 pitches maximum from the coach..  After 4 pitches the batter must hit the ball from the tee (unless a fair ball is hit).

• All players can play the infield (No Catcher)

• No outs or scores will be used.

  • If a defensive player records an out, ex: a fly ball or line drive is caught, or a fielder throws to a base and an out occurs.  That offensive player will be instructed on what happened and removed from the base.  No outs will be recorded.

  • If an offensive player hits the ball through the infield and or to the outfield fence the base coaches can send them to 2nd and 3rd base.  The last batter of the inning will still run all of the bases.  This is to teach the players to make the turns to the next base. There will be no running on overthrows.

• Runners may not leave the base until the ball is hit.  Any runner leaving the base early will receive instructional warning. 

• The home team will always bat in the  bottom of the 3rd inning if time permits.

• Play will be called dead once the coach/pitcher has control of the ball.

• Pitcher is required to wear a helmet.

• Coaches are permitted to kneel when pitching.

• No Play Offs or All Stars

• No Draft, players will be randomly assigned

• Post Game Snacks are not included
