Tryout Registration: Palos Thunder Travel Baseball

Thank you for your interest in having your player(s) tryout for the 2024-25 Palos Thunder Travel Baseball program.

We are excited to welcome your players to showcase their skills and desire to play a higher level of competitive baseball as a part of our organization.

Registration Deadline for ALL Tryouts is: Friday, August 9th, 2024.

Important Details:
Overview:
  1. Palos Thunder Travel Baseball is a part-time travel baseball program.
  2. Palos Thunder Travel Baseball Players are required to play in the in-house program that is a part of the Palos Baseball Organization in Palos Heights, Illinois.
Tryout Registration:
  1. Only Players who register online in advance, by the deadline, will be allowed to tryout. This is due to planning and resource constraints.
  2. Please only register your player(s) for the level(s) of play for the 2024-25 Season, for example if they are a 9U player this year (23-24), you are registering them to tryout for the 10U team for next season (24-25).
  3. Team Level / School Grade Level Entering Guidance:
    1. 8U - 2nd Grade
    2. 9U - 3rd Grade
    3. 10U - 4th Grade
    4. 11U - 5th Grade
    5. 12U - 6th Grade
    6. 13U - 7th Grade
    7. 14U - 8th Grade

Tryout Fee is $15.00 per player (payable during the online registration process) - No Refunds will be given.


Day-of:
  1. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled tryout start time for attendance and number assignment purposes.
  2. Please send your player(s) with the following to the tryout:
    1. Baseball Hat, Shirt, Pants (with cup)
    2. Cleats (rubber NOT metal)
    3. Helmet
    4. Bat
    5. Glove(s)
    6. Catchers Gear (if applicable)
    7. Water/Gatorade

Make-up Tryout Date/Time/Location:
  • If you cannot make any of the above dates, please register and email [email protected] to schedule a makeup tryout 

Post Tryouts - Process/Timeline:
  1. After Tryouts are completed: 24-25 Travel Players Selected
    1. Players and Families will be contacted directly
    2. The players spots on their teams are pending until acceptance and commitment fees are received via the PBO website.
      1. Commitment Fee: $300 (Non-Refundable)
        1. NOTE: The Commitment Fee is in place to make sure the costs already committed/incurred (i.e.: facility rentals, offseason trainers) are covered for each player who commits to Palos Thunder Travel Baseball. It will go towards their larger Thunder Program Fee for the season.

  2. After Tryouts are completed: 24-25 Thunder Player Acceptance & Commitment Fee (Non-Refundable) is Due
    1.  If a player does not accept their spot on their Palos Thunder team and pay the commitment fee, their spot will be released and the next player up will be invited.

Thunder Fees Overview

Thunder Fees are for all players who were selected to be a part of our Palos Thunder Travel Teams.

Note:
This registration does not cover PBO in-house costs or individual Thunder team costs (tournaments, umpires, travel related) that will be shared with you by your individual coaches.

The Thunder Fee includes:

  • Offseason Development
    • Facilities
    • Trainers

  • Regular Season Fee
    • Field Crew
    • Shared Season Grass Cut
    • July Season Grass Cut
    • Game Baseballs

  • Team Apparel Cost - New Teams/New Players (each year) and Returning Teams/Players (approximately every 2 years)
    • Practice Shirt (with last name and # on back)
    • Game Jersey (1) - Home (with last name and # on back)
    • Game Jersey (1) - Away (with last name and # on back)
    • Game Hats (2) (with # on back)
    • Game Socks (2)
    • Game Belts (2)
